Oop’s the Red, aka Big Red, raced 27 times while earning over $63,000. He won 3 races, including the MTA Stallion Auction Laddie Stakes. After racing for 3 years, Big Red competed as an open jumper for many years before eventually finding himself at the New Holland auction. He was bought by a kill buyer, weighed, tagged for slaughter, and was just minutes away from being shipped when he was bailed out by Foxie G. He suffered a severe laceration above his left eye during transportation to the kill buyer’s facility, crammed into a trailer that was too small for him. Red is not an adoption candidate due to the physical and mental trauma he has suffered, but he is a very sweet horse and is thriving in retirement.
