Oop’s the Red, aka “Big Red” raced 27 times between 2002 and 2004. He won 3 of those races, including the MTA Stallion Auction Laddie Stakes. After racing for 3 years, Big Red trained as an open jumper before eventually finding himself at the New Holland auction. He was bought by a kill buyer, weighed, tagged for slaughter and only minutes away from being shipped when he was bailed out by Foxie G. He had suffered a bad laceration above his left eye after being crammed into a trailer that was too small for him during transportation to the kill buyer’s facility. Red is not an adoption candidate due to the physical and mental trauma he suffered, but he is a very sweet horse and is thriving in retirement.
